What do we want to find out about Spring?
In groups we brainstormed what we already know about Spring. We know lots about Spring from when we were
Juniors!
For homework we had to write questions on what we want to find out about Spring. In writing today we looked at our questions to see how they fit on the question matrix.
We wrote our questions on post-it-notes and put them on big pieces of paper.
There were lots of questions and Amelia suggested we grouped the questions. This was a great idea!
We had a discussion on how we could group them and gave it a go. We found this very confusing because everyone was talking and moving the post-it-notes! Tosh suggested we make headings for the groups so we know where to put the questions. Another great idea! Once we did this we sat back and looked at our collection. There were many questions asking the same thing so we put them together. We don't want to throw them out!
Miss Hill was very proud of how we took control of our learning today. We asked questions and discussed our ideas with each other. Here are some comments and questions Miss Hill heard:
-"what do you think this means?"
-"where should I put this lamb one?"
-"can you help me with this one?"
-"put that one here"
-"this one is the same as your one"

Ben's New Puppy Ruby
We were very lucky today when Ben's mum brought their new puppy in our class! She was very playful and happy!
Tosh's News
For his leader news Tosh showed a PowerPoint presentation about wolves. From what I've heard from his mum, he has spent weeks working on it! Well done Tosh, you have used your reading skills to research about wolves and consolidated your computer and PowerPoint skills to present it. You taught us lots about wolves! What a great idea for your leader news!

Football skills
We had our 3rd session of football skills with Grant Hastings today. We were in the hall again. We learnt about what part of our foot to use when dribbling and passing the ball. This will help us to control the ball and pass it better.

Olympic Values
We learnt there are five key Olympic Values:
We discussed and pictures to show what we think each value would look like.
We thought about how it would look at the Olympics or how it looks in our own sports or in the classroom.
Olympic Flag
We learnt about the Olympic Flag today.
We learnt that the five rings represent the five continents and how athletes from around the world meet together to celebrate and compete at the Olympic Games.

-Europe
-Oceania
There are five colours on the flag: blue, gold, black, red and green.
We learnt the colours do not actually match the continents. But every country at the Olympics uses at least one of these colours on their own flag.
The flag is raised in the Opening Ceremony and will fly during the whole competition.
